Age Concern England and Help the Aged have become one organization, Age UK.  We hope that it will become a strong and positive voice for older people in England.

However, every Age Concern in England is independent, and Age Concern Buckinghamshire is an established charity in its own right and will work with, but not be owned by, Age UK nationally.

Our work is, and will always be, for the welfare and needs of older people in Buckinghamshire. Our identity is local, our clients are local and our commitment is to the local people of this county and their families.  It is important to emphasise this, because many of you kindly give us donations and legacies, and you need to know that what is given locally is spent locally. That will not change. It is also important that you specify, “to be spent in Buckinghamshire” if you are leaving us money in a will; otherwise it might go to the national charity.

All our services are client based and client driven. You are our priority.  Whether joining in the activities we provide, such as having your toe nails cut, attending Day Care, being befriended, using our Handyperson Service, asking for information and advice, finding out what benefits you qualify for, being supported with advocacy, learning computer skills, or competing against each other on the Nintendo ten pin bowling.

This is our 65^th year and our mission is very clear: “to promote the well-being of all older people and to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.”
